At dawn, the shadow of the mountain over the world just below makes it seem like a chunk of night was ripped out of the sky and held over a large region of the area. A corona of frost-speckled stone glows from the sides of the mountain, poorly hiding its eclipsed treasure from the world. As the penumbra lifts from the wide expanse of rock and ice, the glistening light strikes the frost in an ice-pink fury, alerting the world: I have risen, I am here.
The base isn't actually frozen, and not a snowflake has yet touched it this year, but it's just cold enough to allow a nightly frost to add to the morning shows of shadow and color. The boulders and stones here part every now and then to let a small plant or even a sapling through, showering the early morning mountainside with a speckled-shadow grace.
Due to the region's close proximity with Printh, not many kitsune frequent the area - at least, not out in the open. Those that do are typically whites and reds, heading in from the forest or the mountaintops. While this region is more of a checkpoint than a home, it's beautiful all the same.
