A waterfall spills over the edges of a cliff, splashing down noisily into a lake, that cut off into little streams. The smallest of the streams, barely visible, runs toward a small pool several leagues away at the base of an enormous mountain. The pool is a common drinking area for the surrounding animals of the mountains. In the depths of the pool, a small hole tunnels down, underneath the mountain. There are several air pockets in the tunnel, which goes on for as long as the mountain stretchs, and eventually it leads up and out into a small waterfall that falls over rocks into a small lake.
This area is surrounded by mountains, completely isolated from the outside world, except for the few that can cross over the frozen-weathered tops of the mountains, and those that know about the water tunnel. The area is a vast valley, stretching for several miles. The small lake is on the southwest side of the valley.
The valley is abundant in trees and bushes that grow odd fruits and vegetables for most of the year. Some of them even grow during the winter. There are a lot of deer in the forest, with a promising water and food supply, and enough scattered out predators to keep the balance.
The landscape of the valley, besides forest, rocks, and water also contained plenty plateaus and mountain caverns. There are many of hiding places spread out through the valley.
On the northern part of the valley, there are ancient ruins from an ancient civilization. The area has remained untouched, even by the animals. It almost seems to have a ward against the inhabitants.
It is mostly a place of safety for the wildlife here. Despite the lack of humans(and therefore hunters), White Kitsune do not flock here as expected, although they're the most likely to survive a journey through the mountains to get here. A much more interesting life can be found outside the peace and safety here.
