White Kitsune are the second most common variety of Kitsune, totalling 30% of the entire Kitsune population - nearly a third of all Kitsune. They are also the most varied, with talents ranging any aspect of magic and life, of extremely varying skill levels, and extremely varying habits, since they choose their magic based on where life takes them - and naturally, it takes them through many, many different walks. Their fascination in fate tends to lead them down interesting routes, but often they are not very focused in their life and tend to drift from one path to the next. They are considered naive dreamers by many, owing to their somewhat lacksidasical approach to life, and they rarely grow skilled in a single area, instead finding themselves happily flipping between several at once and never quite developing their skills fully in any one of them. Their personality means that they enjoy the company of almost any Kitsune but for them, the Black Kitsune can be too serious, and the Desert Kitsune too suspicious and mistrusting for their naive dispositions. Meanwhile, the Red Kitsune (while sometimes looking down on their white cousins) usually have a good sense of humour and energy to match the White Kitsune, and Grey Kitsune enjoy the uplifting atmosphere of their presence while the White Kitsune are facinated by their calming atmosphere.
White Kitsune share a joint position of smallest species, but also tend to be the thickest and stockiest in build, for the sake of warmth. Their ears are small, as are their eyes, and while their legs are longer they are also thicker, with wider spread paws. Their pelt tends to be patterned with grey, rather than with colour, but if colour is included then on occasions a White Kitsune will use an entirely implausible colour such as purple, green or blue - however, this is usually reserved for small markings and eye colour. Like the Grey Kitsune, the designs are usually intricate, but unlike the Grey Kitsune they are also very bold, and usually shaped in extremely complicated lines and swirls designed to look abstract. Rather than an overlay of the whole body, they are usually small and focused around the ears, eyes, tails or paws, or on occasions their chest although this is slightly less common. Their eyes, in particular, are usually all manner of hues, though rarely will they be rainbow - for the whites, this is far too typical, and they prefer to choose two or three unusual colour combinations or sometimes even different colour combinations for each eye. Some Kitsune will even regularly change their eye colour, to whatever suits their fancy, although this is not typical and they are sometimes berated for their carelessness.
Personalitywise, they are renown for being the most free-spirited and lively of all the species. Open and friendly, they are nearly always found to be playful and loving towards others, with a childlike carefree attitude towards life. It could be said that they 'dance' through life, taking it by the hand and running with it. There are few who won't delight in the company of a white Kitsune and their endless optimism and energy which makes them feel far younger than they actually are - although for some they can take a carefree nature too far and become tiresome. Their spirits are indomitable, and they are very big believers in the free will of others, rarely seeking to dominate so much as befriend. Despite their childishness, however, they are certainly still wise - whimsical though they may be, their intelligence is masked by their nature, and many find themselves surprised to have been deceived by a white Kitsune who hid themselves well with a personality that masked even the most cunning plan. It is also assumed that on the basis of their personality, they must all be generous and giving - this is not necessarily the case. While some are very generous and giving indeed, just as many are distant and teasing, and many take a very neutral stance on world matters, preferring instead to hang around the outskirts and help whichever side takes their fancy at any given time. On the other hand, they will rarely turn against a side - they simply help both sides equally. They have a fascination for religion and human nature, observing with amusement the various religions of a person and even adopting them for a few years, switching between them as it takes their pleasing. They are often willing to help somebody who asks it, but at the same time usually for their own amusement request for various quests to be done beforehand. These tests rarely have a purpose or point, except for testing the durability and patience of a person, but should you refuse to take these tests then the White Kitsune will refuse to help you. They often intergrate themselves into human societies at random, for the sake of curiosity, and so some Kitsune view them as treacherous. However, their loyalties still lie with Kitsune, no matter how whimsical and playful they may be at times about it.
