The sun was just beginning to rise, and the chill of the night was melting into dew... She could feel the wetness in the air had come into droplets on her fur, and she could sense the stirring of the kitsune beside her. Soon a wet nose poked into her cheek and his soft words tickled her ears.
With a flick of an ear she opened her eyes and stretched. "Oh, did we fall asleep out here?" Her tails swished, knowing that it was really dangerous to be out in the open... Probably safer here, but up in the mountains she couldn't imagine... Still, there were hunters around. They were so lucky that not a single hunter came looking for them.
... Wait, hadn't she fallen asleep as a human? She must have changed back out of instinct, being so close to another kitsune. "Are we going to go somewhere?" She asked, suddenly feeling extremely awake and excited. She hopped to her paws and wriggled her rump, wriggling on her toes. "Where are we going to go?"

"Well Sully I was about to go home. You can come too if you want to but watch out for my mother." He stretched out his long body. "My luck is going to run out soon. I swear I'm cursed by karma herself."
He sat in front of her waiting for her to answer him. He didn't want to just walk off.

"Of course I'll come with you!" Sully exclaimed with excitement: her whole pelt shook suddenly with the thought.
"I'll give you some extra luck~" She rubbed up against his shoulder with her muzzle and then her body, poking her nose into his ear. "Which way?" She whispered, before bouncing backwards, wriggling from head to tail. "Come on! Let's go already!" An adventure, a real adventure! Oh she just couldn't wait. It was going to be so much fun!

"OK." He smiled softly. Then he ran off, fast enough for her to keep up with him. Hopefully his mother wouldn't think he was bringing back a mate. He had only been gone a week after all and he wasn't that charming with the lady foxes. He could probably, maaaybe get a human girl. He did not have much confidence in himself.
It was a 2 day run back to his home. It would be some adventure. Sully was really helping him view the world differently. Maybe he would eat meat some day. /Maybe/.

Sully chased after him, trailing behind so she could hop at his tails once and a while, in a playful manner. She tried to avoid stepping on them, although she was trying very hard to weave herself in between them from time to time before falling back so she wouldn't pull his tail by laying a paw down on one. It was pretty easy since they weren't trailing on the ground too much.
"What's so bad about your mum anyway, Benny?"

"Well she is a great person really. I love her dearly but every time I hang out with a female..." his voice trailed off sadly. He spoke his head. He should tell her what she was in for.Rather than it be a surprise. It was too risky.
"She thinks they are my mates or mates to be and scares them away. Most girls don't come near me because I'm rumored as an old perverted kitsune." He sighed deeply and embarrassedly.

Sully's tails swished thoughtfully and she trotted up beside him. "I'm sorry about that. I'd love to be your mate, but I just don't think I should settle down any time soon, you know? Maybe we can hang out and stuff though, I mean, I like a good time myself!" She nudged her shoulders into his, and yipped a laugh.
"If it'll make it less awkward I can pretend to be your mate," she commented lightly, becoming slightly more somber as she glanced at him sideways. "Haha, probably not though, huh? It'll just make it more awkward, I bet. Just a thought, though, really. I'm being silly, huh?"

He stared at her for a long time. His expression unreadable for once. What did she just say? She would like to be his mate but not yet? Whhhaaaaaat? Oh god. What was he suppose to say!? Play it cool? OK lets try that. "Oh yeah waaaaay awkward since you look like a little girl."

Sully yipped nervously. "Oh hush for a second. Stop." She slid to a stop and changed into a more adult-looking human woman. "I just don't like looking like this is all. Harder to get away with things!"
"I don't come off as that young in my fox form do I?" She asked, changing back. "Oh well. Let's just hurry up and get there, okay?"

He couldn't stop thinking about her adult form. It was almost as beautiful as her fox form. He remembered him muttering "No not at all." when she asked if she seemed that young in her fox form. Her ENERGY just made her seem young to Benny. Or maybe he was just dull.
Once they got near the vines, he hid in the bushes nearby. He looked both way for hunters and hunter traps. They knew his family lived beyond those vines but no magic or weapon could cut through it. So they would wait outside and set up dozens of traps.
Sadly they set up way too many so it was easy to find them. "When I say run you run as fast as you can into that opening." He pointed to a small hole with his paw. No human could see it. Their eyes weren't defined enough. Anyway, the hole was there so kitsunes could dash across the opening, which the humans made, and get started through the vines. Man his great-grand parents thought of everything.
His eyes glowed bright green as he picked up a bunch of tiny rocks. Suddenly those rocks flew into random places and traps were set off everywhere! "RUN!" He let her get a head start before he followed. The traps were making all sorts of noise. It hurt his ears.
The noise from the traps hurt his more than Sully's because they were built for him and his family. The noise was new to him. Very new. He couldn't run. He felt like he would pass out. The hunters...they knew I would set off the traps. Its what they were hoping for! He panicked slightly. He crawled on his belly trying to get to the vines. His ears started to bleed. He wondered if Sully was OK. Please let her be ok... Please.

The noise was so loud! It didn't take too long for her to realize that it was really hurting Benito, and that he was going to end up curling up and getting killed by a hunter. The noise was too much for him, too much for any kitsune really... There was only one thing to do-- nullify the sound.
The only way to do that was match the wavelength, and then have it go at exactly 180 degrees off the wavelength-- arg... It was so difficult, and the noise was so... Focus! Focus Sully! These sort of things were her forte, she had to do this...
She focused as hard as she could and nullified a large amount of the sound with her own, magical vibrations. "Go!" She snapped at Benny, her fur bristling like crazy. She nipped one of his tails slightly to get him running and into the hole. "Go, go!"

He quickly ran into the hole thanks to Sully. She helped die down the sound that was hurting him. Once they both got into the hole the noise became loud again. He started to freak out. He got angry at them. For the first time in his life he got actually angry. The ground began to shake and tremble. "SHUT UP!"
The ground and the traps exploded leaving nothing but a large hole as far as the eye could see. His body was still shaking. Not from anger but from terror. He did this? How? The trees. The animals. What had he done! He quickly ran through the vines, forgetting Sully completely. He was scared and wanted to go home.

Sully darted through the hole, and shook with fear-- not from just Benito but also from the hunters. What if they did something worse next time? Plus he had completely snapped, tearing up everything in sight.
... and then he disappeared through the vines. She wasn't used to thick foliage at all, and she couldn't keep up with him even when she tried. She slowed to a stop once he had completely vanished from her vision, and whimpered. There were lots of kitsunes around, so she believed, and what if they... what if they... didn't want a silly white kitsune around?
It was very rare that she got scared, but being alone in a place she wasn't used to was too terrifying in general. If she was on a mountain, even a strange one, she would feel so much more comfortable...
But this was... She was lost. A feeling she was completely unused to.

He ran for a long time. Once he calmed down a bit he realized he had lost Sully. "Oh no!" He quickly ran back the way he came. Hopefully she didn't move from his path and he would find her. It shouldn't be that hard to. "Sully! Sully!"

Trembling, she pressed low to the ground and tried to sniff out which way he came. The smells of the forest were so much different, so much stronger. She could smell a mouse under tail lengths of snow in a mountain, but here there was too much. She whimpered, crawling around slightly, following his scent a little bit before getting too distracted by other smells.
"Benny..." She murmured, curling over against the base of a tree, hoping she hadn't been forgot completely. If she waited too long, she would be trapped in this place forever. She wanted to run away and go back to her mountain, but then her fur filled ears picked up her own name.
"Benny!" She yipped loudly, hopping to her feet. "Oh, hurray!" She continued to yip, bolting around in a circle, chasing her tails. Benny was coming back for her!
