... As perfectly as a kitsune born of snow and sky could fit in a dense, dark forest. She stared off at nothing, her mind wandering far back home like it sometimes-- very rarely-- did. She remembered her brother, and her family she used have...
It was a good thing no one was saying anything to her, because she had completely zoned out and returned to her past.

With all the silence, Benito quickly feel a sleep at her feet. He dreamed about there adventure and how much fun they would have. He would protect her at all costs. He felt...manly. For the first time in his dreams he felt like a true man. Hopefully, someday he would grow up to be just like his father. It was a shame his coat wasn't as beautiful...
It has been really itchy though lately. He needed a bath perhaps...

The more she thought about the mountains, the more she longed to be out in the open, out of all the shrubbery and dirt. She wanted to be somewhere that was more crisp, where she could see the sky more clearly, where the wind blew through her fur...
Itching to run, she darted out of the clearing to go hunting. That would get her mind off of things.
She wondered how her brother was doing, though... mmmn...

Benito had a nice long nap before he realized Sully was gone. He ran over to his mother and asked if she had seen her. "I think she went hunting..." His Mother pondered.
"Oh OK. I'll go look for her." Then he left to go look for her. It was starting to get dark. "I shouldn't have taken that nap... I wonder how long it'll take to fall back asleep...."

Sully was absolutely terrible at hunting in the underbrush. She had to use magic to even come close to catching something, especially with her bright fur. Sighing, she rested over a hawk that she managed to find after searching for a long, long time. It was really hard to get the bird, and she was proud of herself.
The feathers tickled her paws and muzzle as she snuffled the delicious smell in her grasp. She bet it tasted just as good as the birds on the mountain.

Benito came over right as she killed the hawk. It screamed for mercy...but he was too late. "Sully...Sully, you killed a hawk? Don't you know how intelligent they are? You really hurt its pride...and you killed him." He frowned and walked over t the dead hawk.
"Its thankfully too young to have a family yet, or a couple more hawks would have been dead..."

Sully looked at Benito, absolutely puzzled at his reaction. "In the mountain, they were one of the few things that we could find to eat... It's nearly impossible in the forest to do, for me..." Her tails swished. "Everyone has to die for someone else at some point..." She gentle pulled a bunch of feathers off of it with her claws, and admired their beauty.
"The world is cruel... It could have died a worse death. At least I'm making use of it." She felt awkward now, with him watching. She was going to eat it, but it felt increasingly hard to eat in front of Benito, even with his back turned. She just couldn't explain to him why she did what she did... It was so natural...
In the mountains, no one would have questioned her...

"I'm sorry if it made it awkward for you to eat...I'll see you later.." He quickly trotted back home. He went inside his mothers nest and curled up with his younger siblings. He closed his eyes and tried not to think so much...

Sully ate the hawk quickly, and bunched the feathers together into a pile. She buried the bones and froze the feathers into a block so she could carry them all back.
When she came back to the clearing, she thawed the feathers and they were still as soft and perfect as before. She sneezed, then glanced around for the others. It was getting dark, but she knew that feathers always made a nest feel extremely soft. She figured that if someone wanted them they could have them...
She turned into a human for a moment and embedded a feather into her eyepatch's strap, before changing back and trotting to where Benito was attempting to sleep. "Goodnight," she muttered into his ear.

He reached his head back and licked her muzzle. "Goodnight Sully." He smiled for a moment before falling asleep. He waited for her. It was cute. His mother was trying SO HARD not to be loud about it. Her children were sleeping after all.

Sully flopped next to him, her back against his as she curled up to fall asleep. She was enjoying her time with him, but it was hard not to itch for adventure-- hard not to itch for wide open plains or tall mountain tops... She fell asleep with the ache of homesickness and dreamed about the snow capped rocks that she called home.

The next morning, Benito was outside with his family waiting for her to come over. When she did, Benny said his good byes to his family and friends. It was time for adventure.! Just him and Sully....Just him..and Sully..all alone...for a long time. He blushed alittle bit thinking about it.

Sully yawned, exhausted from her restless dreaming. She stumbled outside to find Benny with his whole family-- and realized that they were leaving TODAY. She had completely forgotten! She quickly said her goodbyes and curled a tail around Benito's own tail.
"Come on, let's go!" She cheered, suddenly full of energy.

"OK!" He grinned at her and ran off. His mother cried like she did before. "GRAAANDCHILDREEEEEEN!!!" It was an odd thing for her to cry. Maybe if she wasn't so obsessed she'd yell "GOOD BYE I LOVE YOU BE SAFE" etc etc.

Sully chased after him on his heels, bounding between his tails like she loved to do. It was a lot easier to keep up now, she was more used to it... but she still wasn't all that great at running through the forest terrain.
"Wait, Benny! What are we going to do about the hunters!" She yipped behind him, her fur suddenly prickling with apprehension. She was terrified that this time they wouldn't be able to get past the traps...
